FAQ
What are some videos you edit?
I enjoy working on long-form videos. Usually anything upwards of 3 minutes. Can include, but not limited to:
documentaries
online course videos
(podcast) interviews
PSA films for galleries in museums and national parks
tutorials
Some of these are public-facing, built for sharing even when the wifi signal’s not the best. But my specialty is stakeholder-specific content. The kind of videos that’s sometimes exclusive for viewing behind closed doors to a select few—either because of its sensitive nature or funder confidentiality. These videos deserve just as much care and attention, probably even more.
Are there videos you don’t edit?
Content made specifically to generate clicks for the algorithm.
There are already many talented editors out there focused on this kind of videos: fast-cut, scroll-optimised, and built for that in-the-moment entertainment.
It’s a real craft. Just not mine.
Where I’ve chosen to devote my attention to is in content that’s not afraid ask for more than 90 seconds of the viewer’s attention and flesh out concepts.
How much do you charge?
Glad you asked! It starts from USD1,100 for a 5-minute video. The price goes up with complexity.

What editing software do you use?
Final Cut Pro X is my bestie.
It lets me build in better calls-to-action, callouts, and animations, and export to any platform outside of the usual social media specs.
Who are you?
I’m Wen Qing (/wen-ching/)! 👋
I've been somewhat of a traveling filmmaker and video editor, working with government groups, NGOs, and academic institutions across Asia and Australasia for more than 15 years.
But for now, I’ve set up a cosy little nest in the heart of greater Kuala Lumpur. It’s heaven for good food but boy, are the prices real fancy. Thankfully, trying to eat cheap, healthy and tasty is still very much possible, just gotta put in the time to shop and chop.
When I'm not chipping away at an editing timeline, I love me some boardgames and catching movies the old-school way—there’s some pretty sweet deals here on Wednesday at my local cinemas.
Can I hire you to film?
Absolutely. I've provided on-site filming for nature-based assignments on request.
We can iron out further details here.
Any videos you haven't gotten to edit yet, but wish you could?
Boardgame tutorials is on my all-time wishlist. ✨
If you're a boardgamer or a publisher looking to bring your rules to life, I'd love to chat.
P.S.: And if you are in Malaysia… let’s also break out a boardgame or two!
I am still not sure if we are the best fit. But can we chat?
Yes, I'd love to!
You can get in touch with me here. Even if it turns out not we are not the right fit after the call, at the very least, you'll walk away with more clarity on your video needs.
